Python - The Snake of Programming Languages

python snakes programming
Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981). Python is a snake, but not like other snakes! It's powerful and flexible - and like something you've never seen before.

Before we jump into a python primer - why on earth would anyone want to learn a programming language named after a snake?

1. It's great for your career - lots of python jobs, especially in machine learning and statistics
2. It's cool and you can do lots of things with it!
3. You're bored and you want to learn something new?
4. Your boss said you have to learn it - and you're in a rush to get up to speed before you get fired ;)
5. I thought this was about snakes - not programming, what am I doing here?

If it's 1-4 then don't worry, you're in the right place and we'll get you up to speed fast! Faster than a snail on steroids who's just be shot out of a catapult can say 'stooooppppp'.

You don't want to start without a plan - you wouldn't jump out of a plane without a parachute would you? Well you should start to learn something without a plan! As the A-Team says, 'I love it when a plan comes together' - so to have it come together, you need to have one to start with.

The following gives you a quick overview of steps we'll use to get you from 'what is python' to 'I love the smell of python in the morning'. Kick of with the basics of variables and logics through to loops and hacky fun things.
